The staff and leadership of Edwin Gould work year round to make a difference in the lives of children and families in need. While the rewards for their work typically come in the form of smiles from children, successes achieved, and progress for those supported, some Edwin Gould staff have been getting a little extra recognition:

  • Sharron Madden, LCSW-R, Interim Executive Director of Edwin Gould, was awarded the Silver Leaders Award at the National Association of Social Workers 11th Annual Leadership Awards Dinner on Thursday, December 7.
  • Amiee Abusch, LCSW, Division Director for Permanency Services and Support, was named the 2017 Permanency Champion by The Redlich Horowitz Foundation.
  • Anne Patterson, LMSW, Division Director for STEPS to End Family Violence, was featured as a 2017 New York Advocate as part of First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray’s #16Days campaign of advocacy against gender-based violence. The Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence also awarded three STEPS members with 2017 NYC Advocates of NYC awards. They include Arlin Guerrero, MSW, a Senior Counselor at the Staten Island Family Justice Center, and two student Peer Leaders from our Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP). This was the first time that the Mayor’s Office has awarded youth!
