Foster Boarding Home (FBH)

All children deserve safe, nurturing permanent families who can provide an unconditional, lasting commitment to them. The goal of the EGSCF Foster Boarding Home (FBH) Department is to ensure the safety, permanency, and well-being of all children and adolescents that we serve by providing a network of support, inclusive of community and family members, to empower birth parents to successfully and safely reunify their families and, to reduce the length of time that their children spend in foster care.

Comprised of the Foster Care and Adoption Units, the mission of the FBH Department is to ensure that no child or adolescent will leave our care without the needed social services and resources that will support permanency through family reunification with their parents, permanent placement with kin, or adoption by non-relatives, as expeditiously as possible.

The FBH Department responds to referrals received from the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) when children who reside within the communities of: Harlem, East Harlem, and the Lower East Side in Manhattan; Morrisania, Hunts Point, and Mott Haven in the Bronx; and Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brownsville, East New York, Fort Greene, North Crown Heights, Red Hook, and Williamsburg in Brooklyn, are in need of placement.
