Developmental Disabilities Services (OPWDD)

Edwin Gould Services (EGSCF) operates seven certified Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) residential sites for New York City residents. Six of the sites are Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA) and the other is an Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Consumers of this service usually have life-long disabilities attributable to mental and/or physical or a combination of mental and physical impairments. Therefore, a complete clinical team comprising of a registered nurse, nutritionist, recreation therapist, behavior therapist, speech therapist and clinical coordinator collaborate to develop the consumer’s Individualized Service Plan (ISP) and provide the highest quality of care. Individualized care plans are based on the varying levels of the each consumer’s disability and designed to be suitable to his or her needs. To ensure that our consumers receive a continuity of superior care and treatment, all EGSCF residential sites are staffed by direct support staff 24 hours a day; seven days a week.
